South Bend, Ind. -- Aliyah Boston's and-1 layup over former South Carolina teammate Kamilla Cardoso with 1:05 remaining proved to be the game-winning play as the Indiana Fever upset the Chicago Sky 71-70 on Thursday night at Purcell Pavilion.
The Fever (4-5) snapped a three-game losing streak and handed the Sky (5-3) their second straight loss.
Boston, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft, finished with 11 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks. Erica Wheaton led the Fever with 15 points, and Victoria Vivians added 14 points.
Cardoso, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft, finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Sky. Candace Parker led the Sky with 16 points, and Azura Stevens added 14 points.
The game was close throughout, with neither team leading by more than seven points.
The Fever took a 71-70 lead on Boston's and-1 layup.
The Sky had a chance to win the game on the final possession, but Parker's jumper was off the mark.
